As part of the 3 year course at Marbella Design Academy, we had to do an internship at a company of our choice in the design field. I went to Bahrain to work as an in-house design intern at Hanaro Market W.L.L which is an Asian food products distribution company that deals with importing goods and catering to restaurants and hotels in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The founder of Hanaro Market asked me to create a catalogue for their Japanese and Korean products as well as creating a solid infrastructure regarding their design needs.
I re-designed logos, worked on editorial design, designed head-letters, business cards, designed payment slips and a website for this company.
The company is owned by rather traditional and from an older age group, so the designs created and approved by the founders were in the end; rather traditional.
Hanaro Market and Asiana House Market are owned by the same founders, and so for their business card, upon their request, I made use of both sides of the card to display two companies with different information on each side.
Below are the additional stationary items I designed for Hanaro Market. The client preferred a traditional approach for their head letter layout.
The catalogs designed were printed out during the internship and here is a visual representation of what they looked like.
Inner example pages for the Japanese product catalogs, showing the introduction page design as well as how the products were distributed on the page.
Here are some examples of the website landing page that I created for the company, the live website can be found at the following address: www.hanaromarketbh.com
I learned a lot about printing designs in bulk during this internship and it also gave me insight into what it is like working for an actual client.
